This is a huge milestone for the film. Since the last update, I worked on shots 13 to 26, inluding some of the most challenging shots in the film. Some shots required more environment rigging, like for the blue triangular wobbles the kids step on in shot 14.

Alongside animating everyday, I starting mass-production of renders! My computer hasn't slept a day in weeks.

My mindset is that if I am EVER taking a break or out of the house, there MUST be a render going on at my computer.
It's the only way I'll finish the movie by mid-february.
Here are some screenshots of WIP renders.
This shot is the Key shot of the film. I want everything to look this good.

This week also came with some huge progress on the environment.

I textured the ground and added details in a lot of different places (bought and modified colours of tree asset found online, modeled rubber rims of park, textured painted recess games + sand spill)

Next challenge is to texture the school and get that ready for rendering. Though honestly, I'm gonna keep it as simple as I can.

Topdown view of 3D set. YIKES to the tiling, But if every I have a shot where it's this obvious I change the texture for a different version with less detail but no tiling.

JUMPSCARE!! I bet these UVs are UGLY as hell to any modeler.
But they work!

I'm using UDIMs to texture the ground, allowing flexibility to adjust, add or remove textures at any point.
See in the 2nd UDIM on the right, there's still space to add another game or ground detail if I wanted too.

Thanks for reading!

In the next 10 days (MAX) I want to finish up any outstanding animation notes.

There are a few shots that are still quite rough and need love.

I also want to lookdev and finalize the rest of the environment (school)

And continue rendering at any time I'm away from my computer.

FINAL STRETCH!!!!!
